HALE MĀMĀ

Makaliʻi Farms is one of the last remaining remote and quiet pockets on Oʻahuʻs North Shore. We are off the beaten track but convenient to beautiful beaches, great surf, as well Haleʻiwa & Waialua town. We have peaceful quiet community which rare on this busy island! Slow down and enjoy the rythyms of Nature & Island Living.

We do not advertise our spaces. If you found us it is because we are connected through friends, family or community. We simply ask all who visit to come with respect & Aloha (reciprical!) E Kipa Mai!

Things to Note…

When we say "close to Nature": This is a farm in the tropics. There are critters ! We keep our spaces clean & screened but you will inevitably have run ins with geckos, insects, or the off field mouse, so keeping food in proper storage and cleaning up after food prep is your best bet! Donʻt worry there are no dangerous (land) creatures in Hawaiʻi :)

There are two friendly dogs, three nice humans, and a herd of tropical sheep on the farm. Horses and bordering farms are your closest neighbors. Plenty peace & privacy. Because there is little to no light polution, we have the most stunning night skies for stargazing!

Noise: It is very very quiet here! Sound carries here by the mountains so you may hear, on occasional people, peacocks, cows, horses or roosters in the distance (no roosters on site!) We are also close to a small recreational airfield, and there are occasional military exercises but noise is still very minimal. We have a strict 10pm cut off for any loud noise/music on the property and in our farm-community. We will also be mindful of our activity with machine noise etc while guests are here.

When we say “off the beaten track. We are in a rural pocket of the NS but still with easy access to all you need! Mokulēʻia Beach: 8 minutes, Waialua/Haleiʻwa Townships 10-20 min. Airport 45 minutes. Honolulu 60 min. Waimea Bay 30min. * We are accessed by dirt/gravel farm roads (about 7min detour off the main road) * A vehicle is highly recommended as uber/lyft would be a challenge in our rural area. Road is l bumpy so truck or jeep is best but all vehicles are suitable.

Privacy: We are very respectful and mindful of our guests privacy, Please do the same for us. Please do not come into other units/areas without asking & remember to be considerate and tidy in our common areas.

Security: We are in a safe gated agricultural community & our farm is fenced and gated as well. Our two family farm dogs will bark /alert us on arrival of visitors.. but are friendly!

Not allowed: disrespect, late night noise or unregistered guests.

PLEASE: As a regenerative sustainable farm we are very very careful about what goes back to the land & plants ! Please only use eco natural products while staying ie natural bug repellant, sunscreen, soaps etc.
