Makaliʻi Farms is a budding 5acre natural farm located on the beautiful North Shore of Oʻahu. Our commitment is to honor and steward ʻĀina with regenerative growing practices and harmonious living. Our continuous goal is to cultivate community, food sovereignty, and reciprocity w Nature. We are in process to green sanctuary which is a model of responsible growing and creative design, We are dedicated to learn as we grow, restore soil health, and to extend healing to all who the land touches in creative ways.

Kawaihāpai is the name early Hawaiian gave this sub-district of Waialua, O'ahu. This rural agricultural community is part of what once was a thriving Ahupua’a long before industrial agriculture and urbanization . In our present community there is a shared hope among many to see a modern model of this ancient system restored. Makaliʻi Farma and many surrounding are practicing Natural Farming solutions such as HINA (Hawaiian Indigenous Natural Agriculture). working together to not just honor the land we are stewarding individually but working together as in cohorts to extend these teachings and solutions across the Islands.

FARM STAY ACCOMMODATIONS....
Makaliʻi Farms is set ast remaining remote, quiet, rural zones on Oʻahuʻs North Shore. We are off the beaten track but convenient to beautiful beaches, great surf, as well the conveniences of Haleʻiwa & Waialua town. We are in a gated agricultural community & our farm is fenced and gated as well. We have peaceful quiet community which rare on this busy island! Slow down and enjoy the rythyms of Nature & Island Living. We do not advertise our spaces. If you found us it is because we are connected through friends, family or community. We simply ask all who visit to come with respect & Aloha (reciprical!) E Kipa Mai!
HALE MĀMĀ
Enjoy simple island living in our cozy rustic farm cottage. Features a king bedroom studio (unit 1) & lounge area (unit 2) connected by a spacious lanai with panoramic mountain views. Both units are nicely furnished with all you need, and enjoy mauka facing views as well. Comfortable King Bed, dressers, plenty cozy couches/sitting areas, books, cards, games etc. Also attached is a covered semi-outdoor kitchen as well as bathroom. Addtl. backyard grill area, front yard fire pit. Enjoy a hot shower under the stars in the jungle shower!

Option 1: rent King bedroom studio unit only. Unit 1 & bathroom are fully private to renter. Also includes use of lounge unit & kitchen, shower etc but as common/shared use spaces w other tenants.
Option 2: rent Hale Māmā as a whole complex with complete privacy. Includes sole use of both units, kitchen, bathroom, shower etc. as well as 2 king mattress sleeping lofts if needed for extra guests.

THE NEST
(coming sept ʻ26) Nest in our cozy treehouse. Enjoy mountian views from your king bed or while lounging on elevated lanai under the shade of the monkeypod. Get in tune with Nature with all the comforts. This little glamping unit is its own little world, nestled under the tree canopy. The A-frame unit features creative woodwork with reclaimed materials, a comfy king mattress, storage cubbyʻs and “sun-nook”. Sip a cocktail or tea at your tiki bar, which doubles as an outdoor kitchenette & grill area. Enjoy hot water garden shower & your own private bathroom which we call the “loo w a view” (you will see why) w flushing bio-gas toilet. The Nest area is your own private peaceful zone, but with bonus to utilize larger kitchen & lounge over at the main house. :)

Things to Note:
When we say "close to Nature": This is a farm in the tropics. There are critters ! We keep our spaces clean & screened but you will inevitably share space with geckos and insects. Donʻt worry there are no dangerous (land) creatures in Hawaiʻi :) The only When we say “off the beaten track”: We are in a remote pocket of the NS We are accessed by gated dirt/gravel road (about 7min off the main road). but still with easy access to all you need! Mokulēʻia Beach: 8 minutes, Waialua/Haleiʻwa Townships 10-20 min. Airport 45 minutes. Honolulu 60 min. Waimea Bay 30min.
